Terms of Service
Effective date: June 11, 2026
Last updated: June 11, 2026
Welcome to The Void Economy. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of voideconomy.com, our email newsletters, and any membership or subscription services we offer (together, the "Services"). The Void Economy is an independent publication operated as a sole proprietorship based in Lakeland, Florida, United States ("we," "us," or "our").
By using the Services — visiting the site, subscribing to the newsletter, or purchasing a membership — you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Services.
The short version: read and enjoy, share the free stuff, keep the paid stuff to yourself, don't treat anything here as financial advice, and cancel anytime.
1. The Services
The Void Economy publishes articles, newsletters, and analysis covering the space economy — launches, missions, companies, technologies, and the economic forces around them. Some content is free; some may be reserved for paid members. We may change, add, or discontinue features of the Services at any time.
2. Accounts and Membership
To subscribe to the newsletter or access member content, you must provide a valid email address. You're responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for any activity that occurs through your account. You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, abuse the Services, or attempt to circumvent content access controls.
3. Paid Subscriptions, Billing, and Cancellation
Billing. Paid memberships are billed in advance on a recurring basis (monthly or annually, depending on the plan you choose) through our payment processor, Stripe. By purchasing a membership, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel.
Automatic renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current rate. If we change pricing, we'll notify you in advance, and the new rate applies at your next renewal.
Cancellation. You may cancel anytime through your account portal on the site or by emailing justice@voideconomy.com. Cancellation stops future billing; your access to paid content continues through the end of the period you've already paid for.
Refunds. All payments are non-refundable. We do not provide refunds or credits for partial billing periods, unused time, or downgrades, except where required by law. If you believe you've been billed in error, contact us at justice@voideconomy.com and we'll investigate.
Failed payments. If a renewal payment fails, we may retry the charge and/or suspend paid access until payment succeeds.
4. Content License — What You May Do With Our Work
All content published through the Services — articles, newsletters, images, graphics, and design — is owned by or licensed to The Void Economy and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.
Free content. You're welcome — encouraged, even — to share our free articles and free newsletter editions: forward them, post links, quote excerpts, and discuss them publicly. We ask that you credit The Void Economy and link back to the original when you do.
Paid (member-only) content. Content reserved for paid members is licensed to you personally, for your individual use only. You may not forward, share, copy, repost, republish, scrape, or otherwise distribute paid content to non-members, in whole or in part, by any means. Sharing your account credentials to give others access to paid content is likewise prohibited. We reserve the right to terminate, without refund, memberships used to redistribute paid content.
What we retain. Except for the limited rights above, we reserve all rights in our content. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of any content to you.
AI training. You may not use our content to train, fine-tune, or develop machine learning or AI models without our prior written permission.
5. Not Financial Advice
The Void Economy covers the economics of the space industry, including companies, investments, markets, and speculative opportunities. Nothing we publish is financial, investment, legal, or tax advice. Our content is for informational and entertainment purposes only.
We are not licensed financial advisors, broker-dealers, or registered investment advisers. Any discussion of companies, securities, markets, or economic opportunities reflects opinion and analysis, not a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold anything. Space ventures are exceptionally high-risk. Do your own research and consult a qualified professional before making any investment decision. You alone are responsible for your financial decisions, and we accept no liability for actions taken based on our content.
We may, from time to time, hold positions in companies or assets we write about. Where we believe a material conflict exists, we'll aim to disclose it.
6. Acceptable Use
When using the Services, you agree not to:
• Violate any applicable law or regulation;
• Circumvent, disable, or interfere with paywalls, access controls, or security features;
• Scrape, harvest, or bulk-download content or member data;
• Impersonate us or any other person;
• Introduce malware or interfere with the operation of the site;
• Use the Services to send spam or unsolicited communications.
7. Third-Party Services and Links
The Services rely on third-party providers (including Ghost for publishing and email delivery, and Stripe for payments) and link to outside websites and sources. We don't control those services or sites and aren't responsible for their content, policies, or practices. Your use of them is governed by their own terms.
8. Disclaimers
The Services are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We work hard to get things right, but we don't warrant that our content is accurate, complete, or current, or that the Services will be uninterrupted or error-free. The space industry moves fast; facts can change between publication and your reading.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Void Economy and its operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including lost profits, lost data, or investment losses — arising out of or related to your use of the Services, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Services will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose, or (b) fifty U.S. dollars ($50).
Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations of liability, so some of the above may not apply to you.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Void Economy and its operator from any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your violation of these Terms or your misuse of the Services.
11. Termination
You may stop using the Services and cancel your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, with no refund for any remaining paid period in cases of violation. Sections 4, 5, 8, 9, 10, and 12 survive termination.
12. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Polk County, Florida, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts. Before filing any claim, you agree to contact us at justice@voideconomy.com and attempt in good faith to resolve the dispute informally for at least thirty (30) days.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date above, and for material changes we'll notify subscribers by email or with a notice on the site. Continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
14. Miscellaneous
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Services. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision isn't a waiver of it. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them in connection with a sale or transfer of the publication.
