THE STORY
Muon Space debuted Condor-Ultra, a new high-power "Starship-class" satellite platform designed from the ground up for the emerging orbital data center market. Three times larger than Muon's existing Condor-XL bus, the Condor-Ultra is engineered to carry the power-hungry compute hardware that SpaceX and others envision deploying in orbit. A first pathfinder mission is planned for 2028. The platform targets customers building the nascent space-based computing infrastructure that SpaceX's IPO prospectus has identified as a key growth market.
THE DOUGH
SpaceX's S-1 filing revealed ambitions to deploy up to 100 gigawatts of AI compute capacity in orbit, and SpaceX's $30 billion computing deal with Google underscores the scale of demand. Muon Space is positioning as the "picks and shovels" supplier for this emerging market, building the satellite buses that others will fill with compute hardware.
